Landscape
Read MoreA thunderstorm pounded the Cache Valley in Northern Utah. Looking southwest toward the Wellsville Mountain range over the Cutler Marsh, white sunlight pierced the cloulds to the south. At the same time, light from the same sunset shown through the hazy atmosphere illuminating the west in orange/gold. Exactly between these two heavenly spectacles struck lightning bolt after lightning bolt.
Unseen Little Bear River and Wellsvilles
This ariel view hovers a hundred or so feet above the Cutler Marsh and looks south west to the Wellsville Mountains. I was fascinated at the twists and turns theLittle Bear River takes as it winds its way through the marsh and the combination of color in these low lands. Surprisingly, this view is very close to a busy state road that provides a straight path through the marsh. Most people never get to see this beautiful view as the drive busily from one destination to the next.
Old and the Young Below the Storm
This landscape shot looking upward to the sky may seem a bit drab, but closer inspection reveals an interesting symbolism. The tall brown dead plants stand four to five feet tall as left overs from the previous year. Happily growing at the heals of these dead remains sprouts new growth, the new life for this year. Nature continues to perpetuate itself through reproduction and growth. I especially like the threatening nimbus clouds descending rapidly on this contrast of the young and the old.
